Looking for a refreshing and creamy matcha drink? This Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte combines the earthy flavor of premium Matcha with smooth vanilla syrup and your favorite cold milk for a simple café-style latte you can make at home. It's lightly sweet, beautifully layered, and perfect for warm days.
Tools & Equipment
- Bamboo whisk (chasen)
- Electric milk frother (optional)
- Matcha bowl (chawan)
- Drinking glass
- Measuring spoon
Ingredients (for 1 latte)
Latte
- 3 grams ceremonial or premium grade Matcha
- 50 ml cold water
-
150 ml cold milk
- oat, almond, soy, coconut, or dairy milk
- 2 tbsp vanilla syrup
- Ice cubes
- Optional: vanilla bean powder or a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish
Directions
Step 1 — Prepare the Vanilla Milk
Add the cold milk and vanilla syrup to a glass or milk frother. Mix well until fully combined. If using a milk frother, use the cold setting for a light, creamy foam.
Step 2 — Whisk the Matcha
Sift the matcha into a bowl. Add the cold water and whisk for about 20 seconds until smooth, vibrant, and lightly frothy.
Step 3 — Assemble the Latte
Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour in the vanilla milk, then slowly pour the whisked matcha over the back of a spoon to create a beautiful layered effect.
Step 4 — Serve
Enjoy as is, or gently stir before drinking for the perfect balance of creamy vanilla and rich matcha.
Tip
Oat milk creates an extra creamy texture and naturally complements the sweet vanilla and earthy matcha flavor for a café-quality latte.
