This lovely Japanese tea caddy is handmade out of wild cherry bark. Cherry bark naturally has good ventilation, moisture-keeping, and antibacterial capabilities. Furthermore, the caddies seal tightly as a result of craftsmen careful, experienced, and skilled craftsmanship, making them ideal for keeping delicate tea leaves. The cherry bark gains a deep and eloquent amber glossiness after years of proper use.

From the end of the rainy season to around September, craftsmen go into the mountains to search for wild cherry trees in good condition and collect the bark.
In addition, the felled wild cherry blossoms sprout, and after 20 to 30 years, they will stand up and multiply several times, leading to the preservation of forests and the maintenance of local industries.

The tea caddy contains around 150 grams of tea or matcha
