What is Sado?
Tsubaki no Kai School of Sado, led by chairperson Tsuchiya Rumi, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the wisdom of The Way of Tea. Sado is more than just a method of preparing tea-it is a philosophy that emphasizes harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. The practice has been passed down for centuries, teaching not only technique but also a deep connection with nature and mindfulness in everyday life. Whether you are new to Japanese tea culture or already familiar with its traditions, this is a unique chance to immerse yourself in the elegance and philosophy of Sado. We welcome everyone to step inside and experience the beauty of The Way of Tea.

What can I expect of a Japanese Tea ceremony?

In this special collaboration, Japanese tea masters will perform a traditional tea ceremony using Hug the Tea’s exclusive matcha powder. This matcha, sourced from an organic tea farm in Uji, Kyoto, is made from the rare Okumidori cultivar.
Carefully stone-ground over an extended period, it produces a matcha that is incredibly vibrant, smooth, and refined.
Guests will not only witness the precision and artistry of matcha preparation but also have the chance to enjoy their tea with Hug the Tea’s sweets. This intimate experience offers a deeper appreciation of the flavors, techniques, and philosophy behind The Way of Tea.
