This handmade Uchiwa – Fukusuke – ‘Thank you’ – Green is a traditional Japanese fan, often used to create a breeze to keep cool in hot weather. They are part of Japanese seasonal traditions and are often given as gifts during these times. Originally, uchiwa were made from big leaves and animal hair. Over time they have changed, and are now made from bamboo and Japanese paper. It is used not only for fanning, but also for repelling mosquitos and flies. Now available in our store and online in more than 20 different designs.
